Prerequisites

Before setting up Outlook, make sure you have:

  • An email account created in HestiaCP
  • Microsoft Outlook installed on your computer
  • Your domain name and email password

Server Settings (IMAP)

Incoming Mail Server (IMAP):
Server: mail.yourdomain.com
Port: 993
Encryption: SSL/TLS

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):
Server: mail.yourdomain.com
Port: 465

Password: Your email password

Step-by-Step Setup (Outlook 2019/365)

Step 1: Open Outlook

Open Microsoft Outlook on your computer.

Step 2: Add Account

Go to File → Add Account.

Step 3: Enter Email Address

Enter your full email address (e.g., info@example.com).

Click Connect.

Step 4: Select Account Type

Select IMAP (recommended over POP3).

Step 5: Enter Server Settings

Click Advanced options and check "Let me set up my account manually".

Enter:

  • Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com
  • Port: 993
  • Encryption method: SSL/TLS
  • Outgoing mail server: mail.yourdomain.com
  • Port: 465
  • Encryption method: SSL/TLS

Step 6: Enter Credentials

Username: Your full email address

Password: Your email password

Step 7: Test Account

Click Next and wait for Outlook to test the connection.

You should see "Test account settings completed successfully".

Step 8: Finish Setup

Click Done.

Alternative: Automatic Setup (If DNS Configured Correctly)

If your DNS has auto-discovery records, Outlook may detect settings automatically - just enter your email and password.

Troubleshooting Outlook Setup

Connection Error:

  • Verify you can access webmail first
  • Check if firewall allows ports 993 and 465
  • Try using server IP instead of mail.yourdomain.com

Authentication Failed:

  • Double-check password (copy-paste to verify)
  • Ensure username is FULL email address
  • Check if email account is active in HestiaCP

✅ Your email is now configured in Outlook!
